Join us for a mushroomy wood burning adventure! Bring a friend or two and create some memories while you learn the unique art of pyrography. You’ll take home your own decorative pyrography mushroom art and memories that last a lifetime!
In this 2 hour class, we’ll start with instruction on how to use a professional wood burning tool and time to practice on a scrap piece of wood.
Next, you’ll get step-by-step instructions on how to transfer your design, how to coordinate hand movements to get the desired burn lines, and how to add color to your art if you choose. You will also learn about wood burning safety, finishes, and wood art aftercare.You’ll learn about the different ways to burn lines and curves, as well as simple shading and texture techniques. You may even begin to develop your own “style” of wood burning. Crystal encourages you to explore your own creative path.
This class will be relaxed and full of fun, where there are no “mistakes.” You’ll be encouraged to let go of worries about standards of perfection, and just enjoy the freedom of creating in this medium that is tactile, meditative, and empowering.

- All the tools you will need to create your own design and burn it into the wood
- Watercolor paint to add color if you choose

Crystal is an artist and pyrographer who teaches wood burning to empower others to be courageous and expand the boundaries of their own creativity.
She is the founder and artist at Mosstangle Arts, and has taught dozens of wood burning workshops. She loves to create, but her heart is in teaching others. She has been hiking all over the west coast and Alaska since she was a small child, and brings her love for the outdoors to her art. Whether backpacking in the mountains or just sitting quietly in a canoe, she finds great beauty and adventure everywhere she goes. She lives in Monroe Washington, and is often found wandering the local trails.
