In this 2 hour class, we’ll start with instruction on how to use a professional wood burning tool and time to practice on a scrap piece of wood.

Next, you’ll get step-by-step instructions on how to transfer your design, how to coordinate hand movements to get the desired burn lines, and how to add color to your art if you choose. You will also learn about wood burning safety, finishes, and wood art aftercare. You’ll learn about the different ways to burn lines and curves, as well as simple shading and texture techniques. You may even begin to develop your own “style” of wood burning. Crystal encourages you to explore your own creative path.

This class will be relaxed and full of fun, where there are no “mistakes.” You’ll be encouraged to let go of worries about standards of perfection, and just enjoy the freedom of creating in this medium that is tactile, meditative, and empowering.

  • All the tools you will need to create your own design and burn it into the wood
