This is by no means an exhaustive list, but a compilation of some of my favorite resources that I have in my treasure chest of tools.
Your greatest resource is you!
Your creativity, your imagination, your intelligence, your taste are all yours, and are treasures beyond value or price.
When you see something that makes you catch your breath, or stop in your tracks, pay attention to that, remember it, add it to your own treasure chest of resources.
If a photo, a video, a work of art, a flower, a mountain, a person, anything resonates with you, it is something worth saving, going back to and remembering. Use it, apply it, copy it. After a while you will have created your own “list” of resources and inspiration unique to you. THAT is your treasure, your very own, and what you needed most.
That being said, it can be difficult to know where to start. So here are some resources I’ve collected and placed in my treasure chest of inspiration over the years.
First: Go outside, exert yourself, breath deep and pay attention. Bring home your favorite colors, light, shadow, shapes and patterns.
Sketch, paint, take pictures, make a list to remind you, but mostly just soak it in and rely on your amazing memory.
Get online and look at beautiful pictures. Copy them, be inspired by them. Please remember to give credit to the artist if you post your work.
“Start copying what you love. Copy copy copy copy. At the end of the copy you will find yourself.” – Yohji Yamamoto
